You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
Isaiah 26:3 NKJV
Let’s Pray
Gracious heavenly Father, we your humble servants come before You leaning and depending on You our gracious Lord and Savior. God, we come with our minds and our hearts positioned on how good You are, how gracious You are and how kind You are to those who are shut-out, shut-down and depressed because of this current attack by this invisible foe. It is with fear and trepidation that we your humble servants come seeking The Lord for comfort and the peace that only You can bring. As the psalmist pressed the point: Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. You are our Strong Tower in the mist of adversity; You are the Bridge over our troubled waters of life that we seek to cross over to get to safety. You alone are The God who hold us up on every leaning side; the peace that we seek when we are feeling the discomfort of this world in which we live.
Oh God, we come to You knowing that You have all things under control. That You are bigger than this pandemic; that You are greater than any stress that we may feel at this time; that You are the hope of glory that we seek to proclaim everywhere we go.
Now, we pray for all of your people who are in distress, not just the ones who know You in the free pardon of their sins, but Lord, all of the people on the planet. This enemy in which we fight at this time does not care what a person believes. This enemy does not care if one is Christian or Muslim, Jew or Gentile, Hindu, Taoist or Buddhist, male or female, young or old. But Lord, You care about all human beings that You created and You desire that all come to repentance. Your love is indefinable and that’s why You have challenged Your church to be a light in a dark world.
Lord, we intercede for those who oppose You and plead for mercy for those who reject You. We intercede for those who have ascribed themselves to lofty positions as if they control their own destiny. For the one who announced that he is the anointed one, we intercede. We stand in for and seek forgiveness for those who miss represent You, who choose to worship idols over You, who disrespect Your holy name and use it in vain.
We come now in the precious name of Jesus the Christ understanding that there is power in that name. By the authority and power given to us in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we curse this enemy, coronavirus at the root and send it back to hell from whence it came. In the name of Jesus Christ, we speak healing over Your land. In the name of Jesus Christ, we ask for a special anointing for the first responders on the front line. From healthcare personnel to grocery store workers, we pray that You cover them. In the name of Jesus Christ, we ask that You continue to bless the families of the Hebrew Mission Baptist Church and all of the people represented in the communities in which we serve. Bless our world, national and local leaders.
Lord, hear our prayers. Hear our cries. You are the only One who can defeat this enemy. So, we look to You and put our hope and trust in You to get us through this pandemic.
In that matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen!
