It’s a mindset that must be intentional and deliberate if one is to have real restoration from a devastating blow, a setback, the pandemic or something that is simply out of our control. Sometimes we are down in our spirit because we have unrealistic goals. The most prominent goal is to have a problem-free life where all of our anxiety and worries are diminished because we have planned out every moment to be problem-free. But the problems still pop up and leave us without a workable solution although, we have put all that we have into the plan. The proverbial saying is: “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it’s the Lord’s purpose that prevails”. Proverbs 19:21. Work your plan with the Lord’s purpose in mind.
In some cases, the recovery and the restoration have come, but we are not ready to give up the crutch of self-pity. We somehow suppress hope by living in the past with a bitter recall of what was and not what is or what can be. We approach hope cautiously optimistic but are not willing to let go of the darkness that has encroached on our way of processing life.
